Advice and cautions on Essential oils
Natural they may be, but some essential oils have very strong properties. During Pregnancy and when choosing oils for young children it is best to avoid these stimulating and strong essential oils.
Essential oils should be used with care. Always follow the directions on the label or accompanying leaflet before using any Essential oils or skincare products containing essential oils or nut oils.
Please note the following points:
-
Essential oils should never be swallowed or taken by mouth, as they are far too strong for the delicate lining of the alimentary tract.
-
Do not use essential oils undiluted on the skin. They need to be diluted before applying directly to the skin. They should always be blended into carrier oils, gels creams and lotions, or mixed with water before using.
-
Keep out of the reach and sight of children and pets
-
Keep the bottle caps of Essential oils on and tightly closed
-
Keep away from the eyes. If you do accidentally get essential oils in the eyes, rinse them well with plenty of fresh clean water. Consult a doctor if redness or irritation persists.
-
Mop up and clean away any spills of essential oil at once- preferably with paper which can then be disposed of. Take care not spill on highly polished surfaces.
